ClarinetMike says, “Mark you calendars and I’ll see in you San Antonio!”

NEWS! Just received an official invitation to give a clarinet clinic at the 69th Annual Texas Bandmasters Association Convention/Clinic on July 21-24, 2016. TBA will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on the banks of the River Walk in beautiful downtown San Antonio, Texas. Below is the clinic title and description.

Clinic Title: CLARINET POWER! Upgrade with Powerful Clarinet Pedagogy
Clinic Description: Clarinet basics will be discussed such as embouchure, voicing, articulation, relaxation, posture, sound projection, etc. There will be a special emphasis on the “Single Lip Double Lip” embouchure and related embouchure tips. “Single Lip Double Lip” is a new term Dr. Michael Dean uses to describe the embouchure he has developed based on his study of the ideas of master teacher Joe Allard. “Single Lip Double Lip” is a single lip embouchure that gives the benefits of both single and double lip embouchures. There will also be an emphasis on tone, tuning, and sound projection in solo, soli, and ensemble playing. This is a hands-on clinic, so bring your clarinet to the class. There will be time for questions and answers.
